Our history

AIWAS Medical Ltd was incorporated in April 2024 by the operators of established UK community pharmacies. The MHRA granted our Wholesale Distribution Authorisation in August 2025, and we now supply 50+ pharmacy accounts across the UK from our warehouse in Stoke-on-Trent, holding 200+ lines across 14 therapeutic areas, with export trade worldwide.

Who we are

AIWAS Medical is run by its four founding partners: Ibrar Akhtar, Wakaas Akhtar, Abu Ahmed, Dr Safyaan Tanzeel. Between them the partnership covers the trade from every side: pharmacy owners and pharmacy managers who run dispensaries day to day, a working lifetime in pharmaceutical wholesale, and clinical oversight from practising medicine, extending to the group's longer-term ambitions, including manufacturing. That mix decides what we stock, how we source it, and how we answer the phone.

We are deliberately transparent about being new. What we offer instead of decades of heritage is checkable: a published licence number, a documented quality system, and founders whose own pharmacies depend on this company doing its job.

What we do

We buy, hold and supply the everyday dispensary workload: generics and branded lines kept physically in stock rather than traded on paper, delivered across the UK, with licensed export to international markets. Every account gets a named contact who can say what is actually on the shelf.

Quality is the operation

We operate a Good Distribution Practice quality system of 100+ controlled documents under a named Responsible Person: qualification of every customer and supplier, temperature mapping of the warehouse (winter and summer studies), documented recall, returns and complaints procedures, and scheduled self-inspections.
